While we are fully prepared for Ulduar, Nurfed would still prefer to bolster our roster for future endeavors, as well as to broaden our internet family. As such, we are currently recruiting the following, in order of priority:
- Retribution Paladin
- Feral Druid
- Enhance Shaman
- Warlock
- Restoration Druid
- Elemental Shaman
- Death Knight
- Restoration Shaman
If you are not one of the aforementioned classes, please bear in mind that we will always welcome exceptional players into the fold regardless of any other qualifications. Should you be confident that our guild would benefit from your presence, I implore you to send in an application. We’d love to hear from you!
First and foremost, though, we are seeking mature, dedicated, and amicable players who are able to communicate effectively and who have a decent sense of humor. Patience and understanding are key elements in the success of any high-end raiding guild. As for character progression requirements, you should be entirely decked out in Tier-7 quality items or their equivalents. If you could not at least master Naxxramas, then we presently have no desire to regress in order to gear you up.
Please allow me to offer a modest history on our quaint little guild. Nurfed has been together for well over six years now, having been founded during the early days of Shadowbane. We have been a prominent figurehead in the WoW community since its inception, even dating back to the alpha version of the game. We were the first guild to access Upper Blackrock Spire in vanilla beta, and we have been at the cusp of raiding progression ever since. While obtaining numerous highly ranked world kills throughout the life of the game (Nefarian, C’Thun, Horsemen, Kael’thas, Illidan, etc.), we were also the guild who received the very first legendary item in existence, and we’re rumored to have a host of NPCs named after us. But that’s just a filthy lie.
More recently, we accomplished multiple top 10 world kills in Sunwell Plateau (with a world 13th kill on M’uru — arguably the most difficult encounter ever implemented in the game), and we continue to preside at the top for being one of only a handful of guilds with the Heroic: Glory of the Raider achievement. It is worth noting that we have been particularly indifferent to the current crop of content; Ulduar, however, seems to promise a renewal of our interest in the competitive PvE aspect of the game.
We are a very tight-knit (i.e. friends in real life) and elite group of players, primarily comprised of ‘professional’ gamers who enjoy raiding and PvPing during their downtime. We only have 40 total guild members, and we will always hover around that number. Every one of our players feels it is a privilege to be part of such a uniquely talented guild, so turnover is rather uncommon for us. Generally, the only time a person leaves this guild is to pursue other goals outside of WoW, and we will always wish them well in that regard.
With all of the current dungeons on farm, we clear Naxxramas, Malygos, Sartharion, and Archavon on Tuesday evenings beginning at 8 PM EST. Even during the height of progression, we raid only 12 hours per week at the absolute maximum. As such, we require an extraordinarily high level of individual player skill as opposed to the ability to devote a monumental portion of your life to the game.
Much of the guild is also very active in the Arena, and we are currently sporting the #1 rated 3v3 and 5v5 teams on Bloodlust, which is often reputed as being the toughest battlegroup in all of WoW. Each season we also manage to secure various Gladiator titles (Vengeful, etc.), meaning our players are ranked in first at the conclusion of them. Many of our members also attend various LAN tournaments and functions, as we allow our players to participate on other teams’ rosters (e.g. SK-Gaming and Pandemic).
Further details on our guild can be found at our WoWWiki page. If you think you’re interested in joining, click here, or if you’d rather send us your custom application, mail it to guild@nurfed.com. I appreciate your taking the time to read our brief advertisement, and I hope to hear from you soon!
hey i would just like to know if your still looking for an elemental shaman, and if your raid times are still the same as like you posted in wowwiki, 12 hours? but when ulduar patch came out i saw you guys been raiding like everyday and for longer times, i would really like to apply in your guild and before i do that i would like to know your permanent raid sched if it changed during ulduar patch, to ensure i would meet all the raid times required if given the chance. i would submit an application right now but i really need to know the current details regarding your raid schedule, to not waste your time i might as well give a short description about myself, im an elemental shaman currently looking for a more progressive guild when it comes to raiding, so far in my current guild we have only downed up until auriaya, why so slow? lack of people coming online, people makes mistakes and die early etc etc, and most of all i have a new work schedule that simply cant make 100% of their raid at times, but not always, so i have read about your schedule and discovered you guys only raid 12 hours a week? with such a progression! browsed through your guildsite and discovered you are in need of an elemental shaman, to cut the long story short im an experienced elemental shaman who can follow orders well and always comes prepared, i have the 10 man achivement from last patch but lack immortal from the 25 man. it would really be cool if you guys could send me a reply regarding about your permanent raid sched so i could apply for a trial. thanks guys
