Welcome to the first ever Nurfed Poker Championship. Nearly a dozen members are contributing a cool 5,000 gold in order to participate in what will very likely become a monthly occurrence. With a pot measuring 50,000+ in total bullion, someone is walking away from this winner-takes-all extravaganza with a big smile on their face. We’re playing No Limit Texas Hold ‘Em, traditional style, so if you plan to drop by on Ventrilo and listen in, you’d better keep your speaker volume turned low — there’s bound to be some excitement and screaming (and probably a bit of drunken rambling as well).

Update: The results are in! With a total pot size of 45,000 gold (due to a player dropping out last-minute), Somaa shut down Mancer in the finals to become our first-ever grand champion. He’s a regular Maverick. I myself got taken down by an angry gorilla, after going ‘all in’ pre-flop with pocket queens. I’m still scratching my head trying to figure out just how I got hosed on that one… but in the end, it seems as if we all had to pay the troll toll.
